Five Clients from the Living Water for Girls & Learning Resource Center will attend the Middle Georgia State College Prep Academy

ATLANTA (June 17, 2013) – Circle of Friends: Celebrating Life, Inc. announced that five girls from the Living Water for Girls & Learning Resource Center have been accepted into the Middle Georgia State College Prep Academy! The Prep Academy is an intensive six-week educational program offering instruction to students who would not normally qualify for admission, and who are interested in starting Middle Georgia State College in the 2013 fall semester. “We are grateful for this wonderful opportunity,” said Lisa Williams, founder of Circle of Friends. “All of the Living Water for Girls & Learning Resource Center clients have worked extremely hard on their academics, life-skills, and healing from their traumatic experiences. This is a natural progression for them as they begin new phases in their lives.”

Founded September 12, 1999, with the mission to serve, empower and equip women to make a positive difference in the lives of other women and girls. Circle of Friends has three main programs, Living Water for Girls, Living Water Learning Resource Center and Living Water Social Enterprise. Through these programs, survivors of life challenges, violence, street life and human sex trafficking and exploitation can find safety and heal from traumatic life events, pursue educational endeavors and acquire skills to become self-sufficient.

This year Living Water for Girls & Learning Resource Center has accepted girls from four primary sources; The FBI, Parents, Juvenile Court Counselors and girls self-referring. Referrals have also come from the community, and other local NGOs. The organization also works with local educational institutions such as Atlanta Technical College, Atlanta Metropolitan State College and Middle Georgia State College. In addition, Living Water benefits from generous foundation partners like The Quest Foundation, the Merancas Foundation, and the Archibald & Elaine Boyce Memorial Foundation.
